Time and Tide

Old and new, new and old
Corpses were once statues of gold
Two distant points on the same wave
Present becomes past, as the events unfold.

Once acts of glory, today be crime
Castles of lore, or blocks of lime
None can see, what's been consumed
In the eerie depths of time.

Ocean endless, swells so vast
A million years, flow by so fast
Hundred civilizations built in sand
Through the tides, can none last

Start and ending are the same
No winners or losers in this game
Nothing remains when the wave shall pass
Lost in oblivion, all that came.
