The Student

The Student

First steps into the outside world
A fledgling just out of its nest
Knowingly or otherwise, I know not
Responsibilities, on his shoulders rest.

Wisdom beyond his age, at times.
He is expected to magically possess.
But when convenient, he is a child
With an infant's mental prowess.

An uncompromising father at war
A mother who selflessly cares.
A sibling in a love-hate relationship
A chocolate house, loaded with flares.

When everything is not as it seems.
Seeing is no longer believing.
Everyone's wrong until proved otherwise
There's no drug to kill his craving.

Noone seems to understand him.
The frustration searching for a vent.
Roughly shoved into a volatile phase in life.
He is ... just another student.
